The Plug Ins

Plug in your instrument — and your ambition.

A Plug In is three days at the mill built around one featured artist and capped at twenty attendees — you plug in your instrument, you plug into the room, and the room does the rest.

Request to Attend

This is our standard Plug In.

It runs three days and two nights at the Mill, and the prices above are for that format. From time to time we run something longer — an extended residency, or a marquee weekend built around a particular artist. Those are priced separately and announced with their own dates and rates when they open.

Prices are per attendee. Onsite lodging is limited to five places per Plug In and is expected to fill first. A structured three-payment plan is available when arranged during reservation.

Every Plug In Includes

The essentials are always in the price.

Instruction

A masterclass with the featured artist, instrument breakouts, and small-ensemble coaching tuned to your level.

Meals

From the welcome dinner to the closing brunch — every meal is catered with care.

Performance

Evening performances, nightly jams, and your own Sunday showcase.

The Grounds

The gallery, the pond, the trails, and the loft — yours for the weekend.

The Shape of It

Not a workshop you attend.
Three days inside the craft.

Friday — Arrival, introductions, welcome dinner, and a private performance from your featured artist.

Saturday — Masterclass, instrument breakouts, small-ensemble rehearsal, an evening performance, and playing late.

Sunday — Your showcase, a closing meal, and a group session to close out the experience.

Walk through the three days
2026 – 2027

Help us build the season.

We book artists around the rooms people actually want to be in. Tell us what you’d come for — it takes a few taps, and it genuinely decides who we call next.

Thank you — that helps more than you’d think.

Every response shapes which artists we approach for the season ahead.

What would you come for? Pick as many as you like.
Where are you as a player?

Exact dates and featured artists are posted here when each Plug In opens, and go to the mailing list first.

The Room

Who you play beside matters
as much as who you learn from.

We review every request to attend with intention and foresight, because a room filled with exceptional talent is an opportunity that should never be wasted.

At Cross Mill, every artist brings something essential to the room — a voice, an instinct, a perspective, a story. We thoughtfully bring together musicians and creatives whose talents can challenge, complement, and inspire one another.

This isn’t about assembling the most impressive résumés. It’s about creating the right chemistry.

Every attendee becomes part of the creative process. What one person brings can change a song, spark an idea, or take the entire room somewhere unexpected.

One artist influences the room.
The room influences the art.
And together, one becomes all.

How It Works

We accept by request — here's why, and how.

Because ensembles need balance and lodging is limited, we review before anyone pays. It keeps every weekend musical, and every place balanced.

01

Request

Tell us your instrument, your experience, and the weekend you want. No payment at this stage.

02

We review

We balance the ensemble and confirm your fit — typically within several days.

03

Reserve

Selected musicians receive a private link. A 35% nonrefundable deposit holds your place; the balance is due 60 days out.

04

Arrive

We handle the rest — schedule, packing list, and a warm welcome.
