Questions, answered.

Everything on payments, lodging, meals, and the fine print — plainly put. If we've missed yours, just ask.

Booking & Payment

Once you're accepted, a nonrefundable reservation deposit equal to 35% of the total Plug In cost holds your place. The remaining balance is due 60 days before the Plug In. Reservations made within 60 days require payment in full. A structured three-payment plan may be available when arranged during reservation.

Because each ensemble is intentionally selected and Plug In costs are committed in advance, the reservation deposit is nonrefundable. Refunds and credits depend on when written notice is received. See the complete cancellation policy.

Each Plug In is designed around a carefully balanced group of up to twenty musicians. Cross Mill Arts may reschedule or cancel a Plug In that does not reach the enrollment needed to support the intended experience. If Cross Mill Arts cancels, tuition and lodging payments made directly to Cross Mill Arts will be refunded or credited under the full policy.

Lodging, Meals & the Weekend

Plug In tuition includes scheduled instruction, masterclasses, small-ensemble rehearsals, featured-artist access, planned performances or showcases, shared meals and snacks, scheduled backline and sound support, and Plug In materials. Onsite lodging is included only with an onsite package.

Yes. A limited number of premium onsite lodging places are available for accepted musicians. Onsite accommodations are reserved separately and are expected to fill first. Additional lodging details are provided before arrival.

Shared meals are part of the Plug In. Common dietary needs can generally be accommodated with at least 30 days' notice, but the shared kitchen cannot be guaranteed allergen-free. Read the full meals & dietary needs policy.

Bring your primary instrument, personal accessories, consumable supplies, creative materials, comfortable clothing, and an open mind. Larger equipment must be approved in advance. See the complete packing list.

Who It's For

Applicants are considered on demonstrated musicianship, performance experience, readiness to participate, and what they may contribute to the room — not on fame or professional credentials. The request form helps us balance each ensemble so everyone is challenged and no one is lost.

Very much so. Guitar, bass, drums, keys, horns, strings, voice, or something rarer — mixed-instrument weekends are the ones that make the best music. Tell us what you play and we'll consider where you fit.
